Arvind Salem is an Assistant Director for Consultancy & Client Management at CVIA.
As Assistant Director, Arvind has led clients to successfully navigate the introduction of legislation in Congress, from issues ranging to civic participation programmes to menstrual product access for young girls. Additionally, Arvind has coordinated the professional development of the Centre's consultancy team, ensuring CVIA retains a strong, diverse group of young volunteers across the nation who advocate Congress regularly to support client-centred legislation.
Arvind additionally coordinated the Centre's summit, bridging dialogue between young people nationwide and legislative & executive officials, ensuring voices of American youth were properly represented in policy. Arvind firmly believes that intergenerational dialogue is a founding principle for ensuring future prosperity for America's youth.
Prior to joining the Centre, Arvind worked as a policy analyst for RENEW Democracy News as the only secondary school student writer, where he wrote over 30 articles and reached an audience of 200,000+. Arvind's experience is supported by his ongoing work with the High School Democrats of America as the Co-Editor in Chief of the organisation's newspaper, The Progressive Teen. He's also served as a full-time intern for Harvard's Crimson newspaper, and has lobbied with Congressional offices in support of the "Keep Nine" amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Arvind enjoys synergising his experience with 10+ local, state and federal candidates with the Centre's political consultancy efforts.
