Sid Butna serves as the Assistant Director for Strategic Philanthropy Initiatives & Development at the Centre, where he drives key fundraising efforts, cultivates philanthropic relationships, and pioneers innovative funding solutions to support CVIA’s mission of promoting democratic stability and youth engagement.
Since joining the Centre, Sid has led initiatives to expand the Centre's donor network, collaborating with corporate partners and individual patrons alike to secure sustainable support for CVIA’s youth-focused programs.
His background includes significant experience in both youth advocacy and financial management. Previously, he held a pivotal role in fundraising for educational initiatives at Patriot High School, where he raised over USD 360’000 in grants. He has also worked on funding campaigns for national youth organisations, demonstrating a commitment to equipping young people with the resources needed to shape their futures. His expertise in strategic philanthropy is paired with a passion for civic engagement, as evidenced by his active participation in the High School Democrats of America and role as a Communications Vice President for the Youth Climate Advocacy Network.
An advocate for sustainable and impactful giving, Sid’s approach to development is rooted in the belief that financial resources should empower communities, especially young voices seeking change. He's dedicated to expanding the Centre's capacity to influence youth-centred policy by securing meaningful partnerships and cultivating a culture of generosity within the organisation.
